Today’s coincides with the inauguration of a new president. And I gotta tell you, my words don’t really seem important today and so instead, I direct you to these stories about Amanda Gorman, the 22-year-old poet who’ll be part of the Biden inauguration today.

I watched my group of virtual co-workers support one another, celebrate one another and get. sh*t. done. I want all of this for you, too.
Carving out the time and space to focus on that thing you want to do.
Locking it in on your calendar.
Putting a little skin in the game as a commitment booster.
Feeding off the buzz of the collective energy of people who are just as focused as you.
Well Said Wednesday: Gold Star For You!
Seriously. Pause right now. Think of all the ways you’ve kept things working despite “unprecedented times.” Think of the million little shifts and leaps, releases and acknowledgements that got you here. Today. Right now.
Gold star for you!

I'm thinking that Scottish poet Robert Burns would have been a great friend to us in 2020. After all, he's the one who said,
“The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / gang aft a-gley.”
More commonly known as
“The best laid plans of mice and men / often go awry."
Raise your hand if any of your plans went awry in 2020.
(Yes, I am raising my hand!)
In fact, so much of 2020 was about unplanning. I have the canceled plane tickets and erased calendar events to prove it.
I even paused my quarterly Build Your Content Plan workshops, even though they were already virtual.
It just wasn't advisable to help stressed-out business owners map out 3-, 6- or even a year's worth of content that had a good chance of hitting the wrong notes at the wrong time.
But here's the thing:
Our people still need to hear from us.
We still need our content to add value, not noise.
So I created a re-imagined and 2020-ized the Build Your Content Plan Workshop to include updated tools and new ways of thinking about what outreach means *now.*
It's happening December 16*.
This two-hour block of time is all about:
Elevating your outreach with a doable, focused content plan
Connecting with your audiences in a more sustainable, authentic way
Learning a better way to approach content and get a stash of tools to help you out
Never going dark on your audiences and leave them wondering if you’re still in business
Abandoning time-wasting, random content for good
Get all the details here -- including how to register.

"Gang aft a-gley” is so 2020. Let's get our 2021 outreach off to a re-calibrated, re-set and re-engaged start.
